But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal;  for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”&lt;br /&gt;Matthew 6:  19-21&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;Please pray for the following needs of St. Matthew Church.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;October’s New Requests:&lt;br /&gt;· We offer thanksgiving for those who came to the parish auction and enjoyed the fellowship as well as contributed to the success of the event.&lt;br /&gt;· That all those that have accepted leadership roles in the Capital Campaign will be guided by the Spirit in their endeavor to help expand our physical resources.&lt;br /&gt;· We are grateful for all those dedicating their time and talent to make our upcoming Fall Festival a   successful weekend.&lt;br /&gt;· As October is Respect for Life month, please pray for an end to abortion, capital punishment, adult stem cell research and for a greater respect for all life from conception to natural death.&lt;br /&gt;· We pray for all those whose lives are touched by cancer. Individual prayer requests will continue through the Refrigerator Page in the weekly bulletin.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Month - May 2006:&lt;br /&gt;Please pray for the following needs of St. Matthew Church.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;May’s scripture verse: “Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance.” Romans 5:1-3&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;May New Requests:&lt;br /&gt;• For the St. Matthew’s committees and outreach ministries specifically:&lt;br /&gt;o School and Preschool&lt;br /&gt;o May God protect our children and prepare their hearts for Christ.&lt;br /&gt;• Preserve and protect the church property and buildings.&lt;br /&gt;• When tempted to miss Mass because of nice weather, remind us of what is truly important.&lt;br /&gt;• Protect our parishioners during the summer traveling months.&lt;br /&gt;• Ground us in the knowledge of your protection as we live during turbulent times.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;May Existing Requests:&lt;br /&gt;• Armed Forces – may God’s protection surround our troops, especially the men and women serving from St. Matthew. May God strengthen their families.&lt;br /&gt;• St. Matthew’s two, five and 10 year planning. May the Holy Spirit direct our future.&lt;br /&gt;• Church finances especially the $200,000+ debt. Trying to make the Prayer Committee better, stronger and more effective.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;No prayer list this month. Next month will return to regular schedule.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1) How often do you pray using the prayer list?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;2) Do you find the prayer list (indicate one)&lt;br /&gt;              too long     too short    just right     other_________&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;3) What do you think of the prayer content?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;4) How can we encourage church members to submit prayer requests?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;5) Would you like the prayers to be (indicate one)&lt;br /&gt;          monthly       every two months       every quarter&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;6) As a prayer member, how could the Prayer Committee improve?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;7) Other comments or suggestions:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Also, the Prayer Committee is participating in the Steward-SHIP meeting on Feb. 5. Several committee members are needed to man the booth. May God strengthen their families.&lt;br /&gt;* St. Matthew’s two, five and 10 year planning – may the Holy Spirit direct our future.&lt;br /&gt;* Church finances especially the $200,000+ debt. We ask that God work miraculously.&lt;br /&gt;* Sometimes, the holidays are a time of excess, may we practice the gift of self-control.&lt;br /&gt;* For our parishioners who have loss loved ones this year. May the Holy Spirit fill them with wonderful memories and love.&lt;br /&gt;* Father Jerry for his spiritual leadership and guidance. May God strengthen their families.&lt;br /&gt;* St. Matthew’s two, five and 10 year planning – may the Holy Spirit direct our future.&lt;br /&gt;* Church finances especially the $200,000+ debt. We ask that God work miraculously.&lt;br /&gt;* Surrounded by harshness and uncaring, create gentleness within our hearts and parish&lt;br /&gt;* For our parishioner who suffer from loneliness. Thank you for giving me strength to overcome adversity, to do what's right forthe benefit of the greater good, to rise above negativity. Thank you for giving me hope for an end to world suffering, pain, and war, for a beginning of a world filled with light and everlasting love.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:arial;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Committee Notes:&lt;br /&gt;*&lt;/strong&gt; There is a stewarship trade show in February.
